The year 2001 was an important milestone in the development of geothermal energy in eastern Indonesia where PGE started to operate PTLP commercially in the Lahendong WKP, North Sulawesi Province. To date, PGE has operated 6 PLTP units which are the mainstay of electricity supply for North Sulawesi and Gorontalo regions. The current total installed capacity is 120 MW.
